FACE DRAINING
Face draining mist eliminators are typically mounted from the exterior and drain directly out of the unit. The water exits out the face of the unit, driven out by the sloped bottom surface of the mist eliminator. No interior plumbing or plenum boxes are required. An option to make face draining mist eliminators more aesthetically pleasing is to have a one-inch grille built into the exterior side of the mist eliminator. These mist eliminators are custom built to order. Custom shapes are available
BOTTOM DRAINING
Our most popular, and most effective style of mist eliminator is the bottom draining option. These units are installed from within the engine room, allowing the bulk of the water to drop out prior to passing through the unit. Water captured by the bottom draining mist eliminator is drained out large drain slots on the bottom surface of the mist eliminator. The water is then dumped into a builder supplied plenum box, which has an overboard drain (or drains) to return the water overboard. Adequate drains are the key to the effectiveness of these mist eliminators. Cooling fans and/or dampers can be mounted to these mist eliminators. These mist eliminators are custom built to order. Custom shapes are available.
SUMP DRAINING
Sump Draining mist eliminators have a void under the louver pack to collect captured water. A 1 1/2-inch hose barb or two are fitted in the bottom surface to remove water from the unit. Hose is clamped to these drains and are run to an overboard thru hull or to a common drain. These mist eliminators are typically mounted to the interior surface of the hull or superstructure, with a cut out showing only the louvers. In this way, these mist eliminators serve as an aesthetically pleasing exterior grille, as well as an effective mist eliminator. These
